Teen Holiday Wellness Workshop Fundraiser
At Kompashion, we believe in meeting people where they are and providing equitable healing spaces for underserved communities. With a family member who struggles with schizophrenia, we understand how hard it is to break the mental health stigma—especially for young people who need support the most.
Last year, we hosted mental health workshops for local teens, teaching them practical tools and self-care strategies in a fun, engaging environment. We also brought in luxury cars and inspirational speakers who came from nothing and built wealth—showing these teens that their dreams are possible. We rewarded their hard work and participation with brand-new sneakers as a tangible reminder to keep moving forward on their journey.
This year, we’re doing it again! On December 6th, we’re bringing these workshops back to the kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Ana—an underserved community where these resources can make a real difference.
During the holidays, teens are often overlooked. While younger children receive gifts and attention, teenagers frequently get left behind. We want to make sure they feel seen, valued, and celebrated with a meaningful experience they’ll remember.
This year, we’re doing it again. In addition to teaching practical mental health tools and self-care strategies in a fun, engaging environment, we’re rewarding every teen with brand-new sneakers—because while everyone focuses on giving little kids toys for the holidays, teens deserve to be celebrated too.
These sneakers are more than just a gift. They’re:
• A reward for their courage in showing up and breaking the stigma around mental health
• A tangible reminder to keep moving forward on their path, one step at a time
• A symbol that their community sees them, values them, and invests in their future
By participating in these workshops and openly engaging with mental health tools, these teens are doing the brave work of breaking stigma in their community.

Why This Matters
Teen mental health is in crisis. Nearly 1 in 3 teens experience anxiety or depression, with rates spiking during the holiday season. For underserved communities like Santa Ana, access to mental health resources is even more limited.
Our workshops bridge that gap by:
• Meeting teens in familiar, comfortable spaces (like the Boys and Girls Club)
• Using accessible, body-based techniques they can practice anywhere
• Creating peer support networks that last beyond the workshop
• Removing barriers like cost, transportation, and stigma
• Showing them tangible examples of success through inspirational speakers who’ve walked similar paths
What Teens Will Experience
Our workshops blend mental health education with hands-on practice and real-world inspiration:
Somatic Dance: Using the body to release stress and trauma
Breathwork: Simple techniques to manage anxiety in the moment
Sound Healing: Experiencing calm through guided meditation
Mental Health Education: Understanding their emotions and building resilience
Inspirational Speakers: Hearing from people who started from zero and built wealth—proof that their dreams are achievable
Luxury Car Showcase: A tangible representation of what’s possible with hard work and determination
Gratitude Journals: Personal tools to continue their practice at home
Peer Connection: Building community with others who understand
Brand-New Sneakers: A reward for their participation and a reminder of their path forward
How Your Donation Helps
Every dollar goes directly toward creating a transformative experience for teens:
Workshop Facilitators: Trained professionals leading breathwork, sound healing, somatic dance, and mental health education
Inspirational Speakers: Successful individuals who share their journey from struggle to success
Gratitude Journals: Personal tools each teen can take home to continue their practice
Food & Refreshments: Nourishing meals and snacks to fuel the day
Entertainment: Engaging activities that make learning fun and memorable
Brand-New Sneakers: A gift for each participant—rewarding them for their courage in breaking stigma and reminding them to keep moving forward on their path
The Impact of Your Support
Last year, we saw firsthand the transformative power of meeting young people where they are. Teens left our workshops with:
• Practical mental health tools they could use immediately
• A sense of belonging and community
• Renewed confidence in their ability to navigate challenges
• Inspiration from speakers who proved success is possible
• Brand-new sneakers as a tangible reminder that their community values them and believes in their path forward
By showing up and engaging with mental health resources, these teens are doing the brave work of breaking stigma in their families and communities.
This year, we want to expand our impact even further and reach more teens who need these resources.

Every teen deserves tools for their mental health journey—especially during the holidays. Help us make sure they feel seen, valued, and celebrated while breaking the stigma around mental health.
Kompashion is a family-led wellness nonprofit organization providing equitable healing spaces for underrepresented communities and individuals. With a family member who struggles with schizophrenia, we understand how hard it is to break the mental health stigma in our community. We meet people where they are at by spreading compassion, providing mental health resources, and offering tangible wellness tools like somatic dance, breathwork, and sound healing through support groups with accessible techniques they can use immediately. When they are ready, we connect them to other services.
